Project Description: For my final painting project this year, I decided I wanted to paint something that I knew I would really love and feel like it's a part of me which it does. This is clearly a monochromatic acrylic painting of a local Italian bistro. I'm so obsessed with italian culture, food, buildings and the language. It's a goal of mine to either study abroad there or spend a gap year there so that I can truly experience the lifestyle. I'm very proud of the outcome of this painting because first look at the reference pic, i thought to myself "There's no way I could complete something that intricate and beautiful." But in the end I added my own twist to it and I think it could be counted as one of my best paintings.

Project Description: For this project, we had to pick a picture that got printed and make a background painting for that picture to be transferred onto. Once I got the picture printed, I took white acrylic base to smother the picture in which is the first step to the transfer. While I waited a couple days for that to fully dry, I started by placing the colors I wanted onto a canvas and then poured water over it to give it a sort of spilled texture. I then used straight up acrylic paint around the outside to give it depth, and kept it lighter in the middle so that it would look like the clothes were floating in the sky. The last step was actually completing the transfer, I did so by letting my acrylic covered picture soak in cold water for a day. Then the next day, I ran it under warm water and peeled off the paper. Lastly, I took the same acrylic medium and smoothed it onto the canvas as well as I could.
